For Play, Make, Create today we got given these matariki cards to do. We had to Choose a card I chose Tupuarangi. Create an art that relates to birds and food. Here is my digital artwork hope you like it.
Play Make Create Boat
For Play Make Create we made a boat and named it i named it The Panda. we also have bin learning about Captain Cook. Captain Cook cam to NZ in 1769 and Abel Tasman cam on 1642.

For Play Make Create we did a sea animal I did a turtle and named it Torta.
I did a turtle because I had a good plan and I love cartoon turtle.

This week we have been making movies for our movie festival. We had to get into groups of 3,4 or 5 and decide on a movie based on the theme ‘Our Place’. Once we had decided on the focus we had to make a storyboard and also decide on which props and camera shot to use. We then got to choose if we did an animation, green screen movie, stop motion or outdoor movie using natural backdrops. Here is the movie my group made.
We chose to do a Littering Animation.
The best part about my movie is the phone box calling for help.

This week we have been learning about Lahars, specifically The Tangiwai Disaster. We have read a book “Journey to Tangiwai” By David Hill. We learnt so much about the disaster.
There were 285 onboard the train.
151 people died and 134 survived.
This horrific event happened on 24 December 1953.

had to choose to write a diary or create a fact file.

Today for Play, Make, Create we made a bridge for Tangiwai. We had to see if we could make a stable bridge for the train to get across.

Today for Play, Make, Create we made an acrostic poem about ‘SNOW’. We then had to make a paper creation to put on the window. We got to choose from Snow Sled, Snowman, Snowflake, Snow Angel or anything that started with snow.
I enjoyed making a snow man
I am feeling happy about going to the snow in 2 weeks time because I have never gone to the snow.
