Mahi Toi: Te Putanga Raumati – He tīmatanga / Kick start

This is my take on Mahi Toi: Te Putanga Raumati – He tīmatanga / Kick start. I was not able to understand the task but I saw mosaic art on the video so decided to create one using my chrome book.  Here is my turtle that I turned into a mosaic.  I decided to do a turtle as it is one of my little brothers favourite sea animals and I am going to print it for his wall.

tupu-a-rangi

This week our star focus was Tupu-a-rangi which represents food that grows/comes from above our heads.

We have focused on the Kukupa/Kereru. We read an article from the School Journal called Kaupapa Kereru and then created a chart to share the different viewpoints of the Kereru.

I have created a Haiku poem about the Kereru

We also learnt about how Maori harvested the Kereru and Pakeha hunted it. I have created to show  How Mauri harvested kukupa in the old days.

Trete of Wiyetane

This week we have been learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. Here is a comic strip I did about the Treaty.
